Our services include:

Above-ground field trial targeting Coptotermes acinaciformis.

Above-ground field trial targeting Coptotermes acinaciformis.

  • Above-ground evaluation of timber and wood-based products against attack by subterranean wood-destroying termites, including Coptotermes acinaciformis, Mastotermes darwiniensis and Heterotermes spp.The test duration is a minimum of 16 weeks.
Arrangement of plastic sheathing specimens and bait-wood in an above-ground exposure chamber targeting Mastotermes darwiniensis.

Arrangement of plastic sheathing specimens and bait-wood in an above-ground exposure chamber targeting Mastotermes darwiniensis.

  • Above-ground evaluation of the resistance of plastics and other non-timber materials against attack by economically important subterranean wood-destroying termites. The test duration is a minimum of 16 weeks.
Arrangement of timber samples in an above-ground flat panel trial against wood-destroying fungi.

Arrangement of timber samples in an above-ground flat panel trial against wood-destroying fungi.

  • Above-ground evaluation of the resistance of timber-based materials against attack by wood-destroying fungi. The test duration is determined by the time taken for both treated and non-treated reference materials to be destroyed, but will typically last a number of years. Inspections are conducted annually in the early years, at longer intervals in later years.
Above-ground weathering trial of timber decking samples.

Above-ground weathering trial of timber decking samples.

  • Above-ground evaluation of the resistance of timber-based materials against weathering e.g. UV-radiation, precipitation etc.The test duration can vary from months to years, depending on project goals.
In-ground field trial showing attack to timber samples by wood destroying fungi & termites.

In-ground field trial showing attack to timber samples by wood destroying fungi & termites.

  • In-ground evaluation of the resistance of timber, wood-based products, plastics and other non-timber materials against attack by economically important subterranean wood-destroying termites and fungi. The test duration is determined by the time taken for both treated and non-treated reference materials to be destroyed, but will typically last at least 10 years.
